Earn your CPTD points online

EduTalkz (powered by Medtalkz) has been granted CPTD provider status, which means registered users can earn CPTD points simply by watching accredited lectures online.

How CPTD videos work

To make sure a lecture is viewed in full before CPTD points are awarded, EduTalkz uses short, random pauses during the video:

• You need to interact within a set time (for example, press a key or click) to resume the video.
• If you do not respond in time, the video will restart from the beginning.

CPTD points are allocated at 0.5 points per 30 minutes of video play.

Identifying CPTD videos

On EduTalkz, accredited CPTD videos are marked with ribbons so you can quickly see the type of points:

• Blue ribbon – Clinical CPTD points.
• Green ribbon – Ethics CPTD points.

Tracking and downloading your CPTD

All CPTD activities and point allocations are logged on your EduTalkz profile:

• Go to “Show my profile” → “My CPTD points”.
• From there you can download or email your CPTD certificates whenever needed.

Best browser experience

Our CPTD system is a complex online solution and is continuously being improved. For now, we recommend:

• Use Google Chrome for the most reliable experience.
• Avoid using full-screen mode if you experience issues with the rating or pause functions.
• Support for Safari and Edge is improving, but may still have limitations for CPTD activities.

CPTD requirements (SACE guidance)

Below is a summary of typical SACE CPTD requirements and how EduTalkz can help you stay compliant:

• You are required to obtain 60 CEU points within 24 months after completion of Community Service/SACE registration.
• Of these 60 points, 10 must be ethics points.
• It is recommended that you aim for about 30 points in the first 12 months, including at least 5 ethics points, to keep the process manageable.
• You will usually not receive a CPTD Compliance Audit within the first 24 months after Community Service – this is treated as a “grace period”.
• After this 24-month period, you can be selected for an audit at any time, so your current balance should stay at around 60 points (10 ethics) over any rolling 24-month period.

CPTD for speakers

• Speakers are entitled to 3 CEU points for delivering a lecture (SACE rule “R”).
• These points will be added automatically to your EduTalkz CPTD activities if you are registered as a user (not just as “speaker only”) on the platform.

Using smart devices for CPTD

You can complete EduTalkz CPTD activities on most smartphones and tablets:

• Most Android devices work well with our video player and CPTD checks.
• Apple devices also work, but you may need to close the playing video window after pausing and then reopen it to resume.
