Below you will find a list of common questions from EduTalkz users. Click on a question to view the answer.

General

Copyright belongs to the presenter unless it was contracted by a third party, in which case it rests with that third party.

All content on the EduTalkz website or shared in any webinar is copyrighted. It may only be used with permission from EduTalkz and from the presenter.

Content is available for a minimum of 12 months. After that, it stays on EduTalkz as long as the presenter allows. In most cases, talks stay online indefinitely or until the content is no longer relevant.

Yes. Presenters can update their talks and presentations on the platform at any time.

Access is limited to registered healthcare professionals and healthcare students. Lay people are not allowed to register on the EduTalkz platform or webinars.

Yes. CPTD activities work well on most smart devices. On Apple devices:

  • You may need to close and reopen the video window to resume playback after pausing.

CPTD

No, Edutalkz is not itself an accredited CPTD provider, however, webinars and lectures are CPTD accredited with SACE

You can earn CPTD points by:

  • Attending live webinars.
  • Completing online courses.
  • Watching CPTD-accredited talks on the EduTalkz platform.

For webinars, points are based on how long you actively attend. To earn CPTD points you must be a registered EduTalkz user.

We sometimes offer free CPTD events, but most CPTD activities require an active subscription or pay-as-you-go credits.

Yes. Presenters earn CPTD points based on the length of their lecture and for uploading their talks onto the EduTalkz platform.

Presenters must be registered on EduTalkz for their CPTD to be processed.

Follow these steps:

  • Login to EduTalkz.
  • Select “Show my Profile”“My CPTD points”.
  • To generate a summary for a date range, enter the dates and select “Generate”.

Make sure your profile information is correct and up to date so that your CPTD is recorded correctly.

No. Watching many talks and webinars may be free, but earning CPTD points from them usually requires an active subscription or credits, unless they are clearly marked as free CPTD.

For your points to be allocated and sent to the SACE, you must either:

  • Have an active EduTalkz CPTD subscription, or
  • Use pay-as-you-go EduTalkz Credits for CPTD allocation.

No, at the moment EduTalkz does not submit points on your behalf. You will be able to download certificates and summaries of CPTD activities from your Profile page.

Earning CPTD from webinars

Webinar points are based on duration:

  • 15–60 minutes: 1 CPTD point.
  • Longer than 60 minutes: 1 CPTD point per 60 minutes (or part thereof).

It depends on the total duration. On average, most EduTalkz webinars offer around 2 CPTD points.

Yes. CPTD certificates are emailed to you and can also be downloaded from your EduTalkz profile:

  • Go to “Your Profile”“My CPTD” → click the CPTD event to download the certificate.

EduTalkz Credits are a pay-as-you-go system that you can use for:

  • Access to restricted talks.

Steps:

  • Login to EduTalkz.
  • Go to “Show my Profile”“My Account”.
  • Choose the amount of credits you want and follow the payment steps.
